Shipquay Gate, Derry / Londonderry, 2003, watercolour with body colour, 18.5 x 13.5 cm

This is Shipquay Gate in Derry, Northern Ireland. Some 200 years ago this gate used to open onto a dock on the River Foyle where ships would load and unload their cargo. Since then the land has been reclaimed for a distance of 500 feet, enough on which to build the Guildhall whose clock tower can be seen in the background.
