View of Derry from Crawford Square, 2004, acrylic on canvass, 50 x 40 cm
This is a view of Derry, Northern Ireland, from Crawford Square. The roofs in the foreground are of houses in Asylum Road. The gate in the city walls is Butcher Gate (e.g. see my painting of it as it is now or as it was during the siege)
The hill in the background is on the other side of the river Foyle. The church steeple is that of St Columbs cathedral. The building before it is the apprentice boys hall.
